 ATA elections 2017

ATA 2017 Election Results

Votes for ATA 2017 officers were counted yesterday at HCC. Many of the candidates and other members were in presence.

We relied heavily on student volunteers listed below for counting BOD, BOA, and Amendment votes. They reported in at about 10:00AM and stayed past 4:00PM to finish the count. It is fair to say that without their help we would have spent the night at HCC. ATA owes a debt of gratitude to our student volunteers whose names are listed below. If you see them give them a pat on the back and thank them.

Shika Bitkuri

Sumanth Gajjala

Kaushik Pernati

Sisira Gajjala

Saathvik Narra

We were also fortunate enough to have four adults volunteer to count the votes for the office of President of ATA. These volunteers displayed unending patience in going thru all the packets placed in front of them and counting the votes. Many thanks to the following:

Kashinath Prasad

Raghu Gajjala

Veera Janga

Vishvesh Obla

Based on the vote count ATA EC declares following declarations.

  • Srinivas Arvapally is declared as elected to the office of the President of ATA for 2017.

  • Krishna Kishore Jammula, Vimal Karnati, Sudha Dalta, Chandra Narisetty, Sridhar Kothagundla, and Srinivas Kancha are declared as elected to ATA BOD for 2017.

  • Satish Kumar Busarapu, Venugopal Ganji, Kalyana Chakravarthy Kasina, Venkata R Atmakuri, and Ashwini Kalagotla are declared as elected to ATA BOA for 2017.

  • None of the amendments passed as 706 votes are required for passing amendments.

The final tally of the votes is listed below at the end.

With this declaration of the results, the primary function of EC is complete. The EC will act as the caretaker of the ballots until Jan 17, 2017. After that date they will be distroyed. At the same time all files, correspondences to and from ATA EC mail account will be purged. We will hand over to ATA board a spread sheet containing member names and email addresses. No physical address info will be passed to ATA or to anyone. Control of ATA EC mail box will be returned to ATA Board at that time.

The ATA EC for 2017 election thanks all that are involved in the election process. Without the support of so many, we would not have completed this process. This election process, like any process in which humans are involved, was not perfect. We hope that we were able to minimize the bias and made decisions as fairly as possible to protect the interests of the members, and all the candidates.

ATA Elections Voting

This year Election Committee has chosen electronic voting via website called www.votingplace.net . EC has reviewed more than half a dozen sites and picked this as this is best suitable and secured. With this site, password will be sent to individual emails that are unknown to anyone but you, not even ATA Board or Election Committee as they are sent by the voting site. Password is alpha-numeric code auto generated so no one can guess. The best feature is, it keeps anyone from knowing the votes casted. Only the final tally will be known to determine the results. Election Committee unanimously selected this site.

Election Date: November 15, 2014

Start Time: 00:00 hours EST/EDT
